Winthrop Soccer Eagle Elite Camp

Winthrop University Men’s Soccer would like to announce the 3rd Annual Eagle Elite Residential Camp on July 19th - 21st. The camp is designed to offer male soccer players Entering Grades 4th - 12th a high level training environment. The camp will offer accelerated training sessions to improve technical and tactical aspects of each camper. The camp will offer combination of these technical/tactical training sessions with small-sided and full-sided games as an opportunity for players to enhance their overall soccer skills and knowledge. Goalkeeper specific training will be provided, in addition to goalkeeper integration into field player sessions and matches.

The camp will have a certified NATA Athletic trainer on site at all training sessions/games.

An individual written evaluation for each camper will be provided by coaching staff on the final day of the camp session.

Camp Cost

The WU Men’s Soccer Eagle Elite Camp costs $365 and will include housing, meals, and transportation to and from dormitory to WU Soccer Fields. A $75 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of registration – remaining balance must be paid 1 week prior to camp.

Airport Shuttle will be available for $40 Round Trip to and from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Airport arrival times should be between 9 AM and 11 AM on morning of July 19th and departure times should be between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM on July 21st. Campers who wish to arrive the night before the camp can stay in dormitory for an additional $50. **If you wish to use Airport Shuttle, please email all flight details to Assistant Camp Director Kyle Kenney at msoccer@winthrop.edu**

Discount: $25 Early Bird Discount by April 15th, 2019

Who Can Attend Camp
The Winthrop University Men’s Soccer Eagle Elite camp is available for all male aged soccer players entering 4th -12th grade. Teams and groups can be accommodated and are encouraged to attend.
Required Items
  • T-shirts, shorts, & socks
  • Soccer Cleats/Shinguards (Turf shoes as well if you have them)
  • Sneakers and Sandals 
  • Soccer Ball
  • Twin-size bed sheets, pillow, and a blanket
  • Toiletries (toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and towels)
  • Sunscreen and Gold Bond Powder
  • Alarm Clock
  • Any Medicine you may need (ibuprofen, prescriptions, etc)
  • Money for pizza and camp store
  • Water bottle and fluids, snacks, etc. for dorm room. 
  • We recommend as little electronics as possible and Winthrop University Soccer Camps are not responsible for lost items.
Training Facilities

Campers will train on Winthrop Universities Bermuda grass fields located at the Winthrop University Soccer complex. All campers will be transported to and from fields by WU Soccer Camp Staff.

Roommate Preference
Campers with roommate preference need to designate intended roommate during registration. Campers who do not denote roommate preference will be assigned with a roommate of the same age.
Team Assignments
Team Assignments will be made one week prior to camp. Campers will be assigned by age.
Safety & Supervision
The campers are supervised 24 hours a day during all field sessions and while in the dorm. The camp staff will reside on each of the dormitory floors. The dormitory building is supervised by security 24 hours a day.
Housing, Meals, Hydration

All campers will reside and dine on Winthrop University campus. The rooms are air-conditioned.

There will be PowerAde and water available at all sessions. Ice is available as well.

Meals are all-you-can-eat. On day one campers will be served dinner only. Campers will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner on day two. On the last day campers will be served breakfast.

Pizza will be available after evening matches.

Winthrop University Soccer Camp attracts competitive players eager to compete, learn, and have fun. Due to the physical demands and competitive spirit of camp in summer heat, we will encourage kids during time away from the field to rest, recover, and hydrate so they can be ready to participate for the next session as well as the entire camp. Recreational activities during the breaks will not be facilitated or encouraged.
